see what you are saying , but people are different, i for one would never leave my precious kids for a second, cos its a sad society we live in today and it can only take  a split second.....  different when i was growing up, we played out all day and can remember my mam leaving the pram with my baby sister inside, outside near the door without a care in the world... how times change. glad i experienced the innocence of  feeling safe when every one looked out for each other, when did that change.???

The woman was negligent leaving a child in charge of other children.  Today you simply cannot do that.  If the woman has been warned she will think twice about doing it in future but the truth is if she was a good, caring, thoughtful mother who put her kids wellbeing first, she wouldnt have to be told to do it.  The police may just have saved one of her kids lives.

The world is vastly different today as  when I was a child and my children were growing up we felt comparitively safe to do things that are quite unheard of now.  e.g. putting baby in the front garden for morning nap after a feed with the biggest worry you had was did i put the net over the hood so the wasps dont get to him.
