I totally agree. Here in Australia we are not happy at all with the "Americanization" of a British Classic. Last night we saw the first of the "new look" Bill without its signature theme and we were not sure that The Bill was actually starting. Have you Brits NOT learned from all the abysmal attempts that the yanks make when theu try to "adapt" great Brit shows for American TV. Now we see a British show going down the same path - turning a great show into a poor American copy! Seriously - bring back The Bill and not its current yank clone!

Theres a reason The Bill has been running for so long, its because people watched it, and loved it, and those people remained loyal, loving viewers for a long time, but now, That show is over and a new show has replaced it, only its not new, because its like every other police drama on telly.

Yes times are changing, but it doesn't mean The Bill has to too! Most of The Bills viewers have been watching the same beloved show since we were kids, since it first started, and we enjoyed the same quality and format for so many years. The Bill doesn't need fancy camera shots, The Bill doesn't need fancy lighting, The Bill doesn't need a new fangled tune and titles.

But the audience needs a good police drama, that doesnt always focus on the Top Brass and CID, that doesnt always have deep, initmate scenes that delve into the emotions of the Police and play music to set the mood.

    So LESS CID

    And MORE Uniform

    LESS deep and intimate scenes

    and MORE police action

None of that new camera work and lighting

And all of the Old Bill.
