    Slug with your lettuce, sir?

So why, all of a sudden do we have the dim copper from 'Life on Mars' materialising at t'Rovers?  Is this in some bid to add a new and exciting dimension to the Steve 'n' Becky storyline (which, let's face it is horribly stagnant at the moment)?  Are we to be faced with another infidelity-related non-starter or perhaps we're supposed to swallow the idea of Becks giving up all that's she's ever dreamed of for a life of crime and grime with the Slugmeister?  Becky seems to be falling into the role of resident Katona-esque deranged dolly-bird.

I'd like to see Becky not reacting in a ker-azy way for a change.  Here's hoping that the re-appearance of  dodgy bloke from her past will usher in a fresh and interesting change of direction for Becks.

And what the chuff is going on with Liz?  Some lame story about Spain.  Is Bev Callard having a mega hissy fit and refusing to call in for work or is she having some sort of cosmetic upheaval (ie her make-up surgically removed)?  She's been absent for yonks!

I read somewhere that Bev Callard was suffering from stress (lost alot of money in a business venture) and was unable to work for a few months.  She returned to Corrie during June so we'll be seeing her soon.

i think that slug is back for revenge of some kind, he keeps scowling and pulling faces when becky isnt looking but is making out like hes  having a  normal  chat with her to her face. maybe hes not done as well as hes saying ie job, flat and is jealous of becky doing well now.

Slug's face pulling when Becky is not looking is very theatrical, you almost want to boo and hiss.  Dont know if I am the only one but I am fed up with Becky and Steve, Steve's gurning and overacting is becoming laughable now and Becky and her gum chewing has almost become a characature of herself.  Now we are to suffer yet another wedding.  The bright idea of someone to put these two together to make the Street;s "new golden couple" has backfired imo.Sad

I've just looked up gurn in the dictionary.  What a lovely descriptive word for what Steve does.  I'd been translating it in my head as whining, which wasn't making alot of sense.  So now I have a new word in my vocabulary.

Don't think Becky and Steve would be that chuffed to have him carry on hanging around, I know he helped them in the end, but he was the one who helped stupid Hooch get Becky into the mess in the first place!

I can't stop thinking of Life on Mars when I see the actor though, somehow he fits the 70's!
