    Nothing new is happening

Just checked out latest pics (pics I saw weeks ago) and Cain/Charity fighting/kissing... feels like Gavin Blyth's new production team is just reliving past storylines they weren't in charge of five years ago.

Mark/Faye kissing in the woods, where the flip did that come from? It's almost like the writers changed storylines really quickly.

Having watched Friday's edition of EastEnders, I realised how bad Emmerdale still is. It's not bold, it's not fresh, it's not raw. It's still the same old predictable and rushed serial drama, which doesn't win awards. And when it doesn't, half the cast take to their Twitter accounts to *** about the shows that do get the awards.

Well thank goodness for that - that's one of the reasons I love Emmerdale it is as far removed from East Enders as it could get ! If it resembled in any way EE I would stop watching. It's a softer soap than some and that's why it's loved. I never have been keen on the harsher stories but I know we have to have some to attract some of the audience these days but it was a rural story of country folks and that is in danger of being lost if you want it to to be bolder or raw.

And who needs awards ? Emmerdale is well loved by loyal viewers they don't need awards to know that do they ?

    Re: Nothing new is happening

I don't want the show to resemble EE, far from it, but the writing from Friday's EE was unlike anything I've seen in a British soap in years.

And as for your "Who needs awards" you need to follow Nick Miles' Twitter, because in light of EE winning Inside Soap Awards, he came across as a very bitter person indeed. They all want awards.

    Re: Nothing new is happening

I didn't see EE on Friday so can't comment I wasn't aware it had changed. But I really don't need to follow anyone's twitter I have better ways to waste my time than that ;)  Nick has been out spoken over several story lines and found himself defending Lexi (sorry can't remember her real life name) on DS on a couple of occasions. I get the feeling he is a nice bloke who is disappointed in life - he is the same age as me and I think when you get to this age you do begin to look at what you have done and where you are going - sadly perhaps he has found he isn't as happy with his life as he would like to be. So perhaps awards mean more to him than to the viewers (or am I alone in not giving a stuff) ?

You are not on your own at all, as I have said on another thread, I wouldn't watch EE if you paid me, and neither am I bothered about awards, I just like to watch what I like to watch.

Defently feels pushed, over the top and redigging of old terroritry. It's a shame, They used to have it beautiful with Jack and Seth and wern't them funeral scenes for both of them the most wonderful episodes ever!?

Why not do more like these?

     It makes no sense!

    God Bless
