Perhaps someone can enlighten me here but I dont understand this shares business.  When Luke first came on the scene he said he had bought Carla's shares, and Tony checked this out with the solicitor as he was dubious of him.  Now Carla is to return but she wouldnt have any control as the shares are now sold, Luke is selling them on to Rosie, why are they worthless and surely even a silly girl like Rosie would realise you dont pay the money over first, it would go through a solicitor. 

Business in Corrie always amuses me.  People buy shares - no partnership agreements as to who they can sell to or how value will be deternined in the future if they do want to sell.  Tony offers someone a million pounds and a couple of weeks before that he couldn't pay the staff wages, which would have been less than 5 grand if he employs +- 16 people.  In this case, perhaps Carla didn't do the final signature on the actual share handover and Luke was registered as a director with just one share. So ofcourse he doesn't actually have any shares to sell.  I'm willing to go along with this very flimsy story if it's going to end in Rosie being well and truly fleeced. As far as Rosie is concerned, I think she is the sort of person who would be so dazzled by the mental image of revealing herself as the new boss and major shareholder of underworld that she wouldn't even think about a solicitor.  After all, she didn't even know the meaning of 'first refusal'. And we do hear of people signing thousands over to Nigerians for bogus deals on the internet.    Oh happy days!!!  Can't wait to see that flouncing little madam get taken for a ride.

As far as I believe it, Luke apparently never actually had the shares, Carla apparently just put him in as a manager or something, although I would have thought Tony's investigations would have uncovered this - companies house etc.

 

I too am excited by the imminent prospect of Rosie being shafted in these dealings, personally cannot wait for it all to unfold, or rather, unravel

Hope that Sally will also finally realise that her beloved daughter is actually a shallow little slapper with the brain capacity of a black pudding.

Can't wait for that to happen!!  Bit of an insult to black puddings that badgunky.  I think Luke was buying Carla's shares by instalments and he has missed one which means they revert to Carla. They do seem to have their own system of doing things in soapland, buying houses, businesses etc.

This is the point at which Rosie becomes a nun - the writers obviously read my post of a few months back and have taken my suggestion on board.  I demand royalties and a producer's credit.

Look at the lesson Rosie has learned - the first time she wears a halfway decent dress and she is swindled! What kind of degree in the university of life is that?

 

Maybe it'll mean she'll be a bit more careful in future, not to mention more mature. She once told Chesney that she had higher standards than her dad, although I have my doubts!
