I'm confused by this one. I know we've all seen it coming but it still have no clue where the writers picked it from. It's a mediocre storyline with three of the least cared about characters in the show. Saying that, I kind of like David but for me a great big runaway bus could come crashing through the village and run over Nathan and Layla, so maybe the deserve each other and David could be with a nice girl ... someone like Gennie

I am going off Nathan big style and its not because of his storyline - just him. He is a diabolical actor and the storyline now is just plain daft and totally uninteresting and inane

whats the betting now that david loses his new contract that nathan helped him get? in revenge for layla telling im to take  a flying leap so to speak. it wont even matter if contracts have been signed this being emmerdale contracts can be cancelled at the drop of a hat poor david if he does lose the contract  and layla will feel 100 times worse than she already does.

We've talked about chemistry between couples on different threads and I have to say that I'd give David and Leyla a big fat zero.  Its almost as if even the actors can't summon up the will to try and pretend.  IMO something in Leyla is unwillingly drawn to Nathan  -  she is an acquisitve person and his money turns her on.  He of course is the ultimate sick creep.   Asserting his dominance through intimidation and coercion is what turns him on.

I shouldn't have used the words 'turns him on' about Nathan.  I don't think Nathan gets particulayly turned on. Perhaps I should have said 'gives him his kicks'. I can't imagine him falling madly in love with any woman  -  he's Mummy's Boy.

The way he turned everything round so he made it seem like Layla's fault was typical of him.  She used him and tricked her way into his bed!!   Nothing to do with the fact she turned him down and said it was a mistake they had slept together.

I've been mean about Leyla and Nathan and now I'm disagreeing with you about David, cherryfran. He's inconstant (go back over the women he has been involved with since moving to Emmerdale), shallow, boring and a wimp.  Can't say fairer than that, can I?  And don't lets forget he was planning with Nicola, to murder her ex husband.

As nasty as Nathan is he still has more going for him than wimpy David ! For me Nathan is one of those characters you love to hate.

He's just annoying and if I were paying his salary I would be well annoyed at whoever enployed him

It's the way he is stalking Layla that is giving me the creeps, threatening her with a smile on his face so it looks to other folk that he is just being friendly.  I do hope she takes Doug's advice and tells David.  He is going to be furious and hurt but at least it will get Nathan off her case.  When David proposed (rather romantic I thought) he was standing there with that smirk on his face, just ripe for a smack!
