    molly+tyrones house

was just wondering when tyrone decorated the living room did he just paint one wall as the other wall has old fashioned blue wallpaper on totally differant colour with a pattern on or did he just decorate one wall and that paper was up before? its just the colour he painted the wall is modern the rest of the house is still really old fashioned dosent make sense.

I think Tyrone must of run out of wallpaper aswell as there is a 30cm+ gap between the wallpaper and the corner or the room, the producers/writers should definately get rid of now imo.  Big Smile

I agree that Molly and Tyrone's house still looks old fashioned, which is not very realistic.

Have lived in Lancashire for most of my adult life and most terraced houses are now modernised, in many cases with both front and back rooms knocked through for a more open plan look, and certainly those owned by young couples are usually decorated with a more contemporary feel.

why is the front room never shown or utilised, for though it was true that many years ago the front or 'best' room was generally only ever used for special occasions, nowadays the front room is usually the living room whereas the  back room is only used for eating.

Have to say that Ty's idea of redecorating has produced a truly vomit enducing result. It's almost the type of thing that some participants used to get on Changing Rooms, the ones where the woman cried when she opened her eyes at the end! Not only is the wallpaper truly revolting but why did he just do part of a wall?

Its trendy now to have one wall wallpapered and the rest of the walls painted to match.  Dont quite know what happened to Tyrone, looks like he attended the Stevie Wonder School of Painting and Decorating!   Nice to see Jack and Connie back though!

    Re: molly+tyrones house

I must say when Molly and Tyrone bought the house from Jack, I thought this was going to be the opportunity to give the old house a major overhaul. I was looking forward to a complete makeover, especially with a young couple in the house. However, they even chickened out on removing that ridiculous cladding from the outside.

One thing is for sure...... no-one will be writing in to ask where they got their wallpaper!!!

Maybe they could get in Colin and Justin for 60 Minute Makeover??

If it were me I would have been removing the cladding the minute Jack disappeared round the corner. Didn't Ty try to take it off few months ago and found that it would wreck the house and have to leave it on? If nowt else I would do something about the blue paint and the hideous 'old rectory' sign!

    Re: molly+tyrones house

Do you remember how enthusiastic Molly was when they first bought the house.  Tyrone wanted to take the redecorating slowly because he didn't want Jack to feel upset but Molly had all sorts of plans.  Now ofcourse she doesn't give diddly.  Why oh why couldn't we have a happy young couple working together on their first home  -  a nice little feel-good thread running through Corrie.  Instead we have a two-timing embarrassment in Molly and kind gentle Tyrone becoming more doltish by the episode.

    Re: molly+tyrones house

The first thing Molly did when they bought the house was hire a couple of builders to remove the cladding but they had to put it back when the wall started crumbling.

    Re: molly+tyrones house

I have to agree with you. They have truly wrecked a lovely young couple. I thought they were so well matched and was pleased that Tyrone had found such a caring wife after having had such an awful childhood with that harridan of a mother. But it looks like his future is not so rosy now......

Yes, that's it, I knew it was something along those lines. As regards your previous post, as many of have said before it really isn't possible to have a normal, stable, happy relationship in a soap for more than 5 minutes before the writers throw you a curved ball to deal with. If only the hideous cladding were the worst of their problems eh!

Thats the thing though.Disturb the outer layers and beneath it is all crumbling.Maybe an analogy of Molly's love for Tyrone....

    Re: molly+tyrones house

There was scope here to develop this couple as a couple. But the writers 'in there wisdom' (not) had to throw in this ridiculous rubbish that we are watching now. Actually, I don't watch it - thank goodness for the fast forward button

    Re: molly+tyrones house

The point is, its needing decorating and not Tyrones view of interior design. Most couples who buy their first house want to decorate and modernise.  But not in Corrie. Just let the knew bride have an affair with an aged mechanic. So real life!
