help! i need some advice about my dog.

sorry i didnt no where 2start this thread so i thought id put it here as its sort of about my kitchen! lol

i really hope some1 can help me with this, cos im close 2 getting rid of my dog if things dont improve soon.

rite where shall i start......we have 2 jack russells, the mother suzi and her baby daisy, daisy is nearly 3 now, and shes the problem she keeps weeing and pooing out the kitchen all the time.

she goes out all the time but if we leave her and go upstairs or just in the front room she'll wee, she does it deliberatly, cos sometimes it just a little wee that she has squeezed out its becoming so hard with having a little 1 running around and we have recently had a new kichen put in and the wee has marked all the new floor tiles.

i just dont no how much more i can put up with it, i dread going out cos i no ill come back 2a terrible mess, she even wee's in her own bed which every1 has said is really un-usual for a dog, i no it takes a long time 4 jack russells 2 calm down but shes nearly 3 now.

has any1 got any tips or advice??

the only thing that is saving her at the moment is how good she is with my little boy and he really loves her and would really miss her, but i just dont no how much more i can take of having 2clean up wee and poo everytime i go in2 the kitchen.

aww dear :( that does seem unusual, especially in a dog that age !

Have you spoken to your vet, see if it is for attention of if there may be a medical reason for it ?

Sorry I'm not much help, but hope you sort it out soon, for your sake and for the poor little doggies sake !

help! i need some advice about my dog.

Was she ever house trained michelle or is it something that has started to happen recently. Most dogs are normally well on the way to being trained by the time they are 6 months barring the odd accident. Daisy is now an adult dog and i thing maybe she needs to see a dog trainer. Why not contact the vet and explain the problem and see what he reccomends

    Good luck

help! i need some advice about my dog.

thanks for ur replies, well shes still here and shes been behaving! a few weeks ago the weeing and pooing was really getting me down, especially with having a 1 yr old running round and every morning i was having 2come downstairs and clean up mess that was all over the kitchen floor, or everytime we come home from being out id have 2carry the baby in hopping over all the mess everytime we come in!

now everytime we come home and she hasnt made a mess we make a huge fuss of her telling her shes a good girl etc and that seems 2b working, we still have the odd accident but she has improved dramatically,

i just hope it lasts this time cos she goes thru phases, wen shes good shes really good but wen shes bad u just dont no wat shes going 2 go next, shes always been like this since she was born, this is going 2 sound silly but shes like a spoilt child, but hopefully if we keep up the praise she'll keep improving.

    thanks again 4ur replies xx

Re: help! i need some advice about my dog.

    Hi Michelle,
I'm new to these forums (as of today!) - I'm not sure if the date is accurate as its showing up as 07-24-2007 when you last replied to this post BUT its right near the top (3rd down on the list) of the most recent topics in this part of the forum so I'm a little baffled by that! Confused

Anyway, assuming this post is a relatively recent one and doesn't actually date back to July 2007(!) - how are things going?  Are they still going alright with Daisy?

I'm just starting up as a professional dog trainer (having been involved in a LOT of behavioural and training cases in the past through my previous jobs (veterinary assistant, head kennel hand, rescue coordinator, to name just a few.....)

So if you're wanting any specific tips and advice, don't hesitate to send me a message on here and I'll endeavour to get straight back to you.

    Hi Sarah-Louise83

I read your post to Michelle with great interest.  Before I go into great detail are you up for trying to help me as I have a massive behaviour problem with my dogs, three German Shepherds ~ Mum, Dad and 10 month old son and also a cross border collie.

Re: help! i need some advice about my dog.

    Hi,

I hope someone can help. We had our dog from the dogs home in August 2008 and although he is very nervous in the house, he is a different dog when out walking. We have had no problems until this sunday morning when I found that he had poohed on the landing and has not stopped poohing since. His routine has not changed and he is a very loved dog and has at least 2 walks aday. My partner says if this carries on he will get rid of him, what can I do??? I dont understand why he has started this now Sad

Re: help! i need some advice about my dog.

I also need advice.  I have an old greyhound (approx 14 yrs of age) she also has started to poo her bed.  She does not seem to know she has even done it.  It is now getting daily and it is a case of luck if she remains clean.  This has gone on for over a year - at first we thought it was worms but deworming did not help.

I am putting off the decision of having her put to sleep, but I do think it is the only option.
