Not all people are happy to see a woman with her boobs out brest feeding.

Their is just no need for it in a public place.

People are soon to critisise gay people kissing in public so brest feed your child in doors where we dont have to see it...

what a shame... breastfeeding.. is a totally natural wholly wonderful thing.. for a woman to provide her child with everything it truly needs.. its a shame sad biggoted attitudes such as yours even exist.. and as for feeding in a public place.. the time and place is totally dictated by the baby...shame on you 'adam19ga'...

If there were more facilites where women could breast feed when they are out then they wouldn't have to do it in public.

Not all people can spell!!!!!!! This is something rather annoying. If you want to complain at least get it right. Women have BREASTS. I believe that people should be free to be themselves. If you don't like it look away (within reason, obviously). You sound as if you hate prejudice but are prejudiced yourself. Oh, and it is only acting - they are waiting to see how many complain or agree!

there shouldnt be discrimination against it- the baby natural does it and so does the mum. It seems like mums are confident to do it, too, where as normally they wouldnt dream of showing their breasts in public- this just shows that it is the way it is supposed to be! We are meant to have it done in public.

Firstly if her boobs were out on display do you think they would allow it to be shown at that time of night?

When your hungry and your out do you stop and eat? Would you then take your food to the toilet to consume it? Well its the same for a baby if they are hungry the need fed and why should they have to be subjected to a rest room - you don't complain when you see a mum feeding her child with a bottle do you so why should something so natural be confined to your own home? How small minded of you!!

I am a proud mother of a breast fed baby and i support this story line x

But none did it by bearing a breast in public in fact most you would have been hard pressed to even know that was what they were doing. A shawl or muslin or something drapped over the shoulder across the baby and breast hides everything. I think that solves the problem for people who don't like to see it although personally I would rather a baby be fed and happy than screaming and hungry any time !

I think that breast feeding should be a private matter and Nicola could have at least positioned herself with her back to the people in the cafe if she insisted on feeding the baby there. 

I do not think that she should have had the baby sitting in the pub at all!!

Breast feeding does make some people uncomfortable and this is a fact, right or wrong and this should be taken into consideration.  What next, changing the nappy on the table in the cafe as they do not have baby changing facilities,  after all changing the baby is as natural as feeding it?

How do people of other faiths view this action, do they find it offensive if exposing even a woman's hair is not permitted?

 

 

 

I suppose I just don't understand why anyone would expect a nursing mother to not take her baby with her especially as pubs these days serve soft drinks coffee etc and are smoke free.

Turning her back would be a possibility of course but so would averting your eyes - no one is required to stare at a nursing mum in fact I find it odd that anyone would do so.

So many more offensive things you can get worked up about these days that a mum feeding her baby just seems too natural and normal to worry about.

Whilst I agree that breast feeding is totally natural it doesn't mean that you should do it in public.  Going to the loo is a totally natural bodily function but what would people say if it was done in public.  Sorry all of these things are private and I for one would not feed my baby in public, people do find it embarrassing.

Well said. The one's who think that mothers should breast feed in the toilets, should go and have their dinner in them! 

I'm not a mum either but I suspect if Viv had been a bit more diplomatic with Nicola she would have complied.  But of course Viv being Viv she went at it like a bull at a gate which immediately put Nicola's back up.  I personnally don't have a problem with it but a lot of people do and maybe Nicola could have turned her back like some people have suggested, I certainly wouldn't want to feed my baby in a loo however clean it may be.  Having said all that I think Nicola has turned out to be a great mum despite all her doubts when she first found out she was pregnant, it has been the making of her she, Jimmy and Angelica make a lovely family.  As to the poster who said what next changing nappies on the table - of course not that's completely different. 

Yeah did you hear that someone was apparantly arrested a while back for breast feeding for indecent something or other!

 

How ridiculously mad, it is quite depressing to think this kind of thing goes on. How can anyone be so cruel!?

Don't be ridiculous- Let her breast feed- there are MUCH worse crimes!
And talking about sicky icky stuff what about people who are always snogging to the extreme in the cafe lol- no one blinks an eye even when kids are around...
