    Whats in it for us?

It seems that each day the papers are telling us of the benefits Britain is providing to the EU, but whats in it for us?

Yesterday the papers revealed that we are now sending child support for foreign workers children to their home country as well as providing all the benefits for the new arrivals in this Country, but what are we getting out of this arrangement?

This Country is rapidly going downhill with many dreading the winter and the fuel bills it will attract, not to mention the rise in food prices, so why are we giving so much to the EU?

I am seriously asking WHY ARE WE IN THE EU?

Come on Cameron - promise to get us out!!

all 3 parties have said they will not be offering a referendum so we dont vote for them. the party we should be voting is UKIP - United Kingdom Independance Party. they make it their mission to get out of the EU.

i will vote them i think. well its either them or the BNP

I notice that no one has answered this question, is it because there aren't any benefits to the UK?

Yes there are alot of benefits to the UK - foreign workers are damned hard workers - they work their socks off to do a fair days work for a fair days pay and alot of people in this country benefit from it.  If the indiginous population are losing out as a result of these poor people trying to support their families in a poorer country then do not blame these people themselves, it is the Govts. fault.   We should not be pointing the finger at any ethnic minority because if things have changed in this country that we do not like it is simply not their fault - if they are trying to protect their identity and culture and way of life that is understandable and we would do the same so again blame the govt. for not thinking through all the issues before making decisions on immigration and cultural policies.  We are by large a very tolerant society and it wouldnt take alot of changes to bring the karma back to a normal level.

There are also many uk workers who "work their socks off" but are not in a position to bog off back to their home in Eastern Europe all the wealthier once they have made their fortune because unfortunately this is where we born & raised. As for the "government (not) thinking things through" they have thought it through very well - their aim being to bring in as much cheap labour as possible to save costs and make more money (for the top notch of course). The only choice seems to be vote BNP.

Re: Whats in it for us?

It seems the only benfit that is being put forward is cheap labour to earn and take money out of this Country, whilst taking advantage of all the benefits of this Country and in a lot of cases putting nothing back in the pot.

What about the rights of all the people who have paid and paid into the pot and who fought for the freedom of this Country and in some instances, for their Countries as well.

We are now funding 2 sets of MPs, although I think Brussels will try and get it to just one.

Are we just seen as the cash cow for the EU who will keep milking us until we are dry?

I feel the EU is like Communism, good in theory, but it doesn't really work.

"we are now funding 2 sets of MPs" plus lord knows how many extra bureaucrats (as if we don't have enough of those as it is!). The BNP and UKIP seem to be the only parties who want to ditch Europe. Strange really because were it not for Europe the BNP leader wouldn't have been elected in the first place. Is he trying to have himself voted out of a job?

Re: Whats in it for us?

You also forgot to mention the added benefit that other EU countries have to fish in British waters. Now wonder of wonders cod is now almost extinct in British waters. "EU is like communism, good in theory, but it doesn't really work" because things aren't distributed as evenly as they should be. However the divide between have and have nots in communist countries don't seem to be extreme as they are in capitalist countries. Ah but we have that prized possession - freedom - freedom to travel (if you have the money), freedom to live wherever you want (if you have the money), freedom to study whatever you want (if you have the money) - you get the picture. But what price freedom if there is no social justice and we have some kipping in the streets while others sleep in mansions and the only ones who can get life saving drugs are those who can afford them?
