Why is that any popular singer/group are asked ,told not to take a boyfreind/girlfreind when they win these types of programes

Alexzandra burke was on paul o,grady and when quizzed said that cheryl cole advised her (hmm) not to have a boyfreind as it would be distracting

So would it really stop people of the younger generation from buying there music if the artist was hooked up ??

I don't know how much it would really affect the selling of records but if I look back on when I was a teenager with my boybands I would rather not have known if they had girlfriends. I don't really think it would have stopped me liking them but as I say, I never wanted to know.

Boybands and the likes are supposed to create an illusion of being available to everyone even if they're not.
