The dodo WDC is free riding...

McLaren want the No1 plate on their car for marketing reasons... the dodo is merely baggage...

If that is the case, Button should have really kept stom atleast until the end of 2010 season, he really really should have!

But I guess the current crowned WDC winner has just confirmed what we all know, Hamilton is the current GREATEST F1 driver on the grid, and even one bad season in a dodgy car cannot take that away from him.

Still, respect due to Button where respect is due, Hamilton has had drivers who have ran away from him, Button believes he has enough balls to take him on. We will see, all I know is Lewis Hamilton will give everyone "what for" next season and it will come down to his mistakes/team's awful strategies and whether he can have control on them or not....For sure!

The only good thing is that Hamilton prefers to do his talking on the grid than the pits, has had the experience of an awful car which has made him a stronger driver and knows how to win and win in PURE style and DETERMINATION innately peppered with flamboyant mind blowing flavour!

even though button is champ,i think his tenure at mclaren will really show what he is made of,will be interesting to see how long this buddy, buddy thing last with him and button

    Re: button on a mission.

i thin button saw the chance and seized it with both hands. ferrari and mclaren are the top two teams and button was smart enough to have seen the chance and taken with both hands. i think he will give hamilton a good fight, even if he doesn't beat hamilton, his reputation will be much enhanced if he stays close to hamilton on the points table. we all saw how far behind kovalainen was. button will raise his profile by a huge margin if he is within 60% of hamilton's points total. but if he beats hamilton, then the sky is the limit for him.

    Re: button on a mission.

after all button is up against it all. hamilton is loved by all the mclaren team members including martin withmarsh and the mechanics on hamiltons teammates garage. so button can only win some love if he does better than kovalainen did.

    Re: button on a mission.

What if there is eruptions again though. I think we all know what i mean. I hope there isnt though id just like to see some good raeing from them both again next season.

If it does all kick off again i wonder who will get the stick in the press though. Kovi didnt challenge Hamilton. Alonso did quite a bit and eruptions were there.I dont think Button is better than Hamilton but i certainly think he will challenge him. Be intresting to see what happens if Button is leading him after the first few races.

Button is on a mission for all his own reasons. So was Alonso. Look what happened there. Two world champions at a team will it work ?

I wish them both well though. I just think Button will have to pull his socks up. Hamilton is younger than Button and i think will be in Formula 1 a lot longer than Button. Thats many more years to go for the wdc i would imagine. If Button wants more wdcs he has to do it sooner rather than later.

His decision only makes sense if Mercedes didn't want him and gave him a push. If what he says is true and he made a voluntary choice for the "challenge", I think he needs his head tested!!Crying

button will not lie to the media about this.

he wants to test himself to see how good hamilton really is because i remember hamilton chasing down button in 2nd position only to smack the wall. button said after words that his engineers were going on about how hamilton was quick behind him and he said he had him covered and was ready to up the pace if needs be. button does genuinely believe that hamilton is not as good as people make out so he will find out if it's true or not in the 2010 season. non of the drivers get to f1 by chance and they know that. for button to get into f1 as quickly as he did, he must be very good. i admire him for taking the challenge more so than others who chose to wear their brown pants. button has the guts to do it and will be heavily rewarded for it.

The dodo needs someone else to develop the car and setup... that would be another reason to get behind Hamilton...

He is just there to grab as much cash and nothing else... pure free riding...

He will make the sport a bit more duller and boring...
