Just wondered how people feel about Jason coming back in S4 (and possibly S5) after he made it pretty clear that he didn't take his role in the show remotely seriously?

Personally, I didn't think Danny was the right character to replace Nick - no scientific expertise, far too "act first, think later", not a role model/father figure to the younger members of the team. What happened to the idea of not killing any creature unless entirely necessary, and returning as many as possible to their own era? Seemed to be pretty much forgotten as S3 progressed.

Assuming we do get Danny back, I'd like to see the character develop a lot more depth, and (assuming we can't have any missing members of the original team back!) maybe see the introduction of another male character with some scientific expertise and some sex-appeal to be some kind of foil - with no Nick and no Stephen, there must be room, surely...... ?!

But same, he didnt really have much of a personality and he 'gets the girl' im wondering which one. Def not Sarah or Abby. Obviously. Nick was a really important (but reluctant) father figure to Connor and Abby :) Bring back the original team! (and Sarah and Becker)

But I was thinking more of a "leader figure" with sex-appeal (personally, Danny just doesn't do it for me, whereas Nick....... now there's an attractive mature man ........   !)

On paper Jason Flemyng was a perfect replacement for DH - experienced actor who could bring some weight to the cast and who had the talent to create an interesting character. In practice, he was a disaster and I'd really prefer it if he wasn't back in S4. It wasn't entirely JF's fault. If they'd written Danny as Professor Quinn, hardcore scientist brought in to lead the team after Nick's death, he could probably have done something good with the role. But they were so determined to make Danny NotNick that they wrote him as this ridiculous action-hero with no brain, and JF responded by putting in an OTT performance of bad acting which just exaggerated the problem. I don't respect JF for whining to his fans about the show being 'silly' but he's right - after DH left, the scripts were mostly very silly, and badly written.

I don't think it would work to bring in another male character as lead scientist alongside Danny, although that's what the team desperately needs. The show is already struggling to balance the characters it already has - Lester was underused in S3; Helen's story is still painfully underdeveloped; Connor was side-lined and left with no character development after ep.3.03. Another character would just spread things too thin. I think the ideal would be to do a major re-boot/timeline shift for S4 and either rewrite Danny (with instructions to JF to actually do some decent acting this time!) or replaced him with another strong actor as the lead scientist. The basic premise of the show is still 'team of scientists deals with intrusions through the anomalies' and they need to deal with the fact they don't have any scientists with relevant qualifications on the team!

I like Danny, I know he's not hot but we've already got Becker and Conner, I always thought he could get together with Jenny now that Cutter is dead, i know there was the whole Cutter/claudia/ Jenny thing but Cutter and Jenny never really loved each other so....

 Anyway they cant just leave him stranded in the past with no explination as to what happens to him, he will have to come back for at least one more episode to tell us what happens.

 And if we want more sex appeal i say we bring back Shephen!!

Point taken - trouble is, I'm sure Danny will still be team leader in S4, which leaves the team very light on scientists. Maybe in the 18 months between series, he will have done some serious retraining??......

I think that the team need some one to look up to. Nick Cutter was a very good leader but now its basicaly a case of every one runs around making a mess of things and then they kill the poor dinosoars!!!! And did anyone notice that Nick always said to connor that if Nick died he should take over!!!! Thats what really *** me off! I think that Danny is too much like becker you know all the action and in one team there is only enough room for one of them and I personally think it should be becker!!!!! Danny Quinn is the same age as Lester I mean come on 40!! The team needs a young atractive scientist/leader/farther figure/relationship kind of person and if i had it my way Danny would stay traped in the past and change something that brings Nick back and Danny stays marroned and die's!!!!!!!!

Bring all the characters back for the final eva ep NOOOOOOW OR I WILL BE LIKE THAT FACE >:(
